Ontario Sailing Team and Quest For Gold Elite Team
The Ontario Sailing Team exists to provide support for
Ontario
’s top athletes who are working towards status on the National Sports Centre (Ontario) Team, the Canadian National Youth Team, and ultimately the Canadian National Sailing Team.
The Quest for Gold (QFG) Elite Team automatically includes all the athletes that have applied and received Ontario Cards in the QFG program for the current year. In order to be on this team you must train at one of the eight Centres.
The OST sailors must train out of one of the Training Centres in order to be selected for membership on the team.
Membership
- The Ontario Sailing Team is comprised of 25-30 athletes.
- All team members are selected based on results, on-water training programs, as well as participation in dry land training.
Services
- Supported coaching at training camps hosted by the Regional and Development Training Centres
- Supported Performance Fitness Program in conjunction with the Training Centres
- Training and support where needed

Ontario Sailing Development Team
The purpose of this team is to recognize those sailors who are up and coming athletes and to help them improve their skills so they can move on to the Provincial Team, the National Team and even further. Athletes are invited to the Development Team if they finish in the top four of their class in the Ontario Sailing Provincial Dinghy Championship.
Members of the Ontario Sailing Development Team will receive the following:

For those sailing at an Ontario Sailing Training Centre, you will receive a review of your yearly training plan by both the Training Centre Coach and the Ontario Sailing Provincial Coach.
