Celebration of Sailing Island Gala - A Fabulous Evening!

Ontario Sailings 9th Annual Celebration of Sailing Gala this year themed the Island Gala was a resounding success. Through the support of 160 sailors and supporters, we were able to raise over $25,000 for Ontario Sailing programs.
The night was filled with fine wine tasting, great food, over 145 silent auction items, a fantastic live auction and live music featuring a steel drum band!
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the
Legends of Ontario Sailing Award (presented by Canadian Yachting Magazine) to the
Builders of C & C Yachts: Rob Ball, Erich Bruckmann, George Cassian, George Hinterhoeller, George Cuthbertson and Ian Morch. Rob Ball, Erich Bruckmann, George Cuthbertson and Richard Hinterhoeller (on behalf of his father George Hinterhoeller) and their families were present to accept the Award.
Ontario Sailing would like to thank HKMB | HUB International, The Shotgun Fund, Tectona Electronics Inc. and GAM on Yachting Magazine for their Gala sponsorships. Also, a big thank you to VELUX 5 Oceans and Fogh Marine for their support and Craig Pattinson for his fabulous auctioneer work. The Gala would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the Gagnon Family, the Island Gala Committee and the generous support of all of our auction donors. Once again, thank you!

Time to Register for the 2011 Big Sound Challenge!
This training event is special. A team of Ontario Sailing's elite coaches works with sailors interested in building their racing skills (Bronze IV through to Gold) for two days of training and two days of putting new skills into practice in a regatta setting.
Our elite 420 coaches include: Ashley Lethbridge, Graham Fraser, Murray McCullough, Chris Hewson and Evan Lewis!
Our elite laser coach is: Rob Fox!
This event does not end when the kids get off the water...we have nightly activities which include dinner and a movie at the Stockey Centre, a cottage BBQ, and an old fashioned beach party complete with skits and a bonfire.
This is a fabulous way for the sailors and their chaperones to launch the summer season. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions:
