You are invited to attend Ontario Sailing’s Ruby Gala – an evening of fine dining, dancing, wine tasting, live and silent auctions and more! 

 

 

 

The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. with cocktails, fine wine tasting and a silent auction followed at 7:30 by a gourmet dinner, live auction and dancing the night away.

 

The Ruby Gala is not only a great evening out, but also raises funds to support Ontario sailors all the way from local club members to Olympians. 

 

Enter the Club Challenge! 

Get together a group of 10 from your club and show your support for the sport of sailing in Ontario! Every club that buys a full table of tickets (10 people) is invited to bring their burgee to be displayed at the event and will be entered into a draw to win $500 for their club programs.

  

• Wine tasting of fine wines not available in Ontario . – All wines are donated and 100% of money collected will go back to Ontario Sailing.  This will be done by Pierre Gagnon who really knows his wines and is the husband of Carolyn Gagnon, our Gala Committee Chair and VP of Business Development on the Board.
• Every ticket gets a chance to fill out a ballot to guess the number of in a jar to win a Mini Cooper. If someone guesses the exact number they will drive home the Mini Cooper that night!
• Club Challenge is back!  Any club that puts together a full table of 10 will be entered into a draw for $500 for the club to use towards its programs.
• Many silent and live auction items, including an original piece done by artist Ellen Cowie (see below)
• First annual recognition of the "Legends of Ontario Sailing" Award - Sponsored by Canadian Yachting.  This year we will be recognizing the skippers and crew of the Evergreen and the Magistri that competed in the 1979 Fastnet race.
• Sweet table to be brought on to the dance floor later in the evening.
• Dancing the night away!
